ACTIONS RELATING TO CHAIRHOLDERS
- The following resolution was adopted:
RESOLVED that the actions relating to chairholders be and they are hereby approved as shown below: (a) Election of Chairholders
- Mr. William G. Clark, Jr., as Edmund Shureman Campbell Professor of Architecture, effective September 1, 1989.
- Mr. Robert D. Cottrell as Frank Talbott, Jr., Visiting Professor of French, for one semester, effective January 16, 1990.
- Dr. Michael O. Thorner as Kenneth R. Crispell Professor of Internal Medicine, effective November 1, 1989.
- Mr. Peter D. Waldman as Harry Shure Visiting Professor of Architecture, for one semester, effective September 1, 1989.
(b) Re-election of Chairholder
- Mr. Roger G. Hood as John A. Ewald, Jr., Distinguished Visiting Professor of Law, for the period September 7, 1989 through September 13, 1989.
- Mr. Roger G. Hood as John A. Ewald, Jr., Distinguished Visiting Professor of Law, for the period March 19, 1990 through April 27, 1990.
(c) Leave of Absence of Chairholders
- Mr. Hugh M. Davidson, Commonwealth Professor of French Literature, for the period January 16, 1990 through May 31, 1990, without pay, to do research.
- Mr. George P. Garrett, Henry Hoyns Professor of Creative Writing, for the period January 16, 1990 through January 15, 1991, with partial pay, to work on a book and critical essays.
- Mr. Jaquelin T. Robertson, Commonwealth Professor of Architecture, for the period September 1, 1989 through May 31, 1990, without pay, to devote time to private practice.
- Mr. David A. Shannon, Commonwealth Professor of History, without pay, for the period September 1, 1989 through May 31, 1991.
(d) Death of Chairholder
- Mr. Edmund H. Henderson, Thomas G. Jewell Professor of Education, died October 29, 1989. Mr. Henderson had been a member of the faculty since September 1, 1969.
