MOTIONS FOR EXECUTIVE SESSION
- The following motions were unanimously adopted by vote of all Visitors present:
- (a) That the Finance Committee go into Executive Session for discussion of Item Number 21 on that Committee's agenda for the discussion of investing public funds where competition or bargaining is involved when if made public initially the University's financial interests would be adversely affected as provided for in Section 2.1-344 (a)(5) of the Virginia Code.
- (b) That the Educational Policy Committee of the Board of Visitors go into Executive Session for Item Number 19 on that Committee's agenda for the discussion or consideration of personnel matters involving University appointees including employment, assignment, appointment, promotion, performance, demotion, salaries, discipling or resignation of public officers, appointees or employees of the University.
- (c) That the Board of Visitors go into Executive Session for consultation with legal counsel pertaining to actual and potential litigation, or other legal matters within the jurisdiction of the Board, as provided for in Section 2.1-344 (a)(6) of the Virginia Code.

Following a recess for an Executive Session of the Board of Visitors, the Open Session continued at 2:45 p.m., on January 22, 1988.
