APPROVAL OF THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A HOSPITAL ADVISORY BOARD

The following resolution was adopted:

• WHEREAS, the University of Virginia Hospitals serve many patients from surrounding counties as well as throughout the State,
• WHEREAS the medical staff has recognized the opportunity to respond better to patient need and to improve service to patients; and

• WHEREAS it is the desire of the University of Virginia Hospitals to provide patient services of high quality in a cost effective manner; and
• WHEREAS the President and the University desire advice from the community served in order to operate the University Hospital most effectively;
• NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by The Rector and Visitors of the University of Virginia that the President be and he is hereby authorized to appoint an Advisory Board for the University of Virginia Hospitals for the purpose of advising the President on matters pertaining to the operation of the University of Virginia Hospitals.
