REVISION OF THE MANUAL TO CHANGE THE NAME OF THE HEALTH SCIENCES COMMITTEE TO THE HEALTH AFFAIRS COMMITTEE

In recommending the change of the name of the Committee, the President pointed out that Health Affairs more clearly describes the work of the Committee, and it is more commonly used in other universities than Health Sciences, and that the Vice-President for Health Affairs requests approval of the change.

As required by Section 5.8 of the Manual of the Board of Visitors, 1975 the Executive Committee unanimously approved the proposed amendment, and notice of the proposed amendment was included in the regular notice of the meeting sent to each member of the Board.

The following resolution was adopted:
RESOLVED by The Rector and Visitors of the University of Virginia that the Manual be and it is hereby amended as follows:
A. Page 12 - Delete from Section 3.2 (Standing Committees) Health Sciences Committee on line 5 and substitute Health Affairs Committee.
B. Page 15 - Delete from Section 3.25 (Health Sciences Committee) Health Sciences Committee in the title and on line 1 and substitute Health Affairs Committee.
