W. B. TOWLES, M. D., Anatomy.  J. W. MALLET, M. D., F. R. S., Chemistry.
A. H. TUTTLE, M. S., Histology.  W. G. CHRISTIAN, M. D., Physiology
R. E. DIXON, M. D., Demonstrator Anatomy.  A. D. DREW, Demonstrator Histiology.

It is proposed to give instruction in Anatomy, Chemistry, Physiology, Histology
and Bacteriology during the coming vacation, beginning July 5th and
ending September 3rd, 1892. Experience has demonstrated the great advantage
derived by students who have attended these lectures. This course is designed
to meet the requirements of the following classes of students:

1st. Those who are beginning the study of Medicine, and desire to enter the
University of Virginia, or other medical school, at the commencement of the
regular session. Such students as design taking the recently arranged two years'
course in Medicine at the University of Virginia will find a material advantage
in the increased ease with which the subjects of the first session may be disposed
of by graduation at the close of that session.

It will also be useful to those who have begun the study and wish to review
these fundamental branches.

2nd. It offers peculiar advantages to those who desire to stand the examinations
before State, Army, Navy, Marine Hospital, or other Medical Examining Boards.

3rd. It offers a short and complete practical course to those practitioners who
desire to renew their acquaintance with the primary branches, and cannot spare
the time for a regular session.

ANATOMY.

Descriptive and Topographical Anatomy will be taught as fully and practically
as possible, the lectures being illustrated by specimens of the bones and dissections
of the soft parts. Material will be abundantly supplied for dissection,
which will be conducted by the Demonstrator of Anatomy.

CHEMISTRY.

Three lectures a week will be given, devoted to the clear presentation of the
fundamental facts and principles of Chemistry, adapted to the needs of the student
or practitioner of medicine. The lectures, illustrated by specimens and experiments,
will include instruction in numerical calculations based upon chemical data.

For laboratory instruction (including the lecture course, without additional
charge) reference is made to the separate circular of the Professor of Chemistry.

HISTOLOGY AND BACTERIOLOGY.

The instruction in Histology will comprise lectures and associated laboratory
work upon the structural elements of the body and their combination into tissues
and organs. Instruction will also be given in Bacteriology by lectures and demonstrations.

PHYSIOLOGY.

The lectures in Physiology are designed with special reference to their bearings
on Pathology and Therapeutics. As far as possible, they will cover the

given in the regular session. Special attention will be given to the Physiology
and Pathology of the urine, in the examination of which a practical course will
be given.

Special instruction in any particular branch of the departments named may
be had at the desire of any individual student, arrangements for which should
be made with the Professor in the department in question.

The University is situated near the city of Charlottesville, Va., at the intersection
of the Chesapeake & Ohio and Piedmont Air-Line railroads, at the foot
of the Blue Ridge mountains, a situation which, from its healthfulness, is rapidly
becoming a popular summer resort.

The fees for tuition are for any single course, $35.00, with separate charge for
laboratory instruction ($10.00 in Anatomy and $5.00 in Physiology and Histology);
for any two courses, $60.00; for any three courses, $75.00; and for all four
$80.00; with, in each case, laboratory fees in addition. All payments to be made
in advance.

Accommodation may be obtained in the immediate neighborhood at from
$16.00 to $20.00 per month for meals, rooms, furniture and attendance.
