That called was Mary bright,

There came Gabriel with lightAnd said: Hailë, thou sweetë wight!
To be clepëd thou art y-dight

There she conceivëd God Almight,That was in stall with her all night,
And there men knewë what she hight,

When Jesu was on the rood y-pight,Mary was sorry of that sight
Till that she saw him rise upright,

And after to heaven he took his flight,There he is now in blissë bright,
And with him that sweetë wight,
