MERLEAU-PONTY, Maurice (1908-1961):

French philosopher and phenomenologist who rejected the DUALISM of Rene Descartes in favor of a structural theory of REALITY. His books include The Structure of Behavior (1942) and The Primacy of Perception (1964).
