EPITAPH

ON A SCOTCH ATTORNEY.

O! death, the corpse beneath this stean,
I ween, was savory, and fruitful;
Thou never, did'st, since Master Cain,
Eat, so much roguery, at one mouthful.
A Pill most bitter, was he, faith,
Thy habeas corpus spoil'd his laughter,
But, speer ye weel, auld Guidman Death,
He brings no Damages hereafter.
