A LULLABY.

Little feet that fain would run,
Hands that move in unison,
Eager eyes of ocean blue
Seeking something yet to do—
Ah, my baby, lie and rest
Longer on a loving breast!
O that through a meadow sweet
Still might fare these little feet!
That these hands, so seldom still,
Might escape the touch of ill!
Ah, my baby, lie and rest;
Life is good, but love is best.
