Epig. 74. Of Hercules to C. D.
Whom, neuer force nor fence of strongest arme,Could fell or quel, is vāquisht by Loues charme;
Who? prou'd so strong to wrong Alcides great?
'Twas Loue, but not by force but foule deceit:
He slew Leæna, Lena could not tame,
Monsters could ne're; his Mistresse wrought his shame.
