The Closet of Counsells | ||
Of riches left to a waster.
Like as an arrow which doth lightvppon a stone by chaunce:
Because the stone doth softnes want
is forst therfrom to glaunce.
Euen so the riches giuen to him
which wanteth wary witte:
To rule the same, is geuen in vayne
and is a gifte vnfitte.
For by his necligence his store
can take no tacke nor stay:
But by consumption is disperst
and brought vnto decay.
