LEAVES OF ABSENCE

The following resolution was adopted:

RESOLVED by The Rector and Visitors of the University of Virginia that the following faculty members be and they are hereby granted leave of absence:

  • Mr. Robert W. Artinian, Assistant Professor of French, for one academic year, effective September 1, 1974, without pay, to become Professor-in-charge of Sweet Briars Junior Year in France.

  • Mr. Richard Q. Bell, Professor of Psychology, for one semester, effective September 1, 1974, to complete his duties at the National Institute of Mental Health, Bethesda.

  • Mr. Ralph E. Biggadike, Assistant Professor of Business Administration, for one academic year, effective September 1, 1974, without pay, to complete requirements of the D.B.A. degree, Harvard University.

  • Mr. Theodore Caplow, Commonwealth Professor of Sociology, for one semester, effective January 16, 1975, without pay, to engage in field research.

  • Miss Rose Marie Chioni, Sadie Heath Cabiness Professor of Nursing, for the period February 1, 1974, through July 31, 1974, without pay, to complete her duties at the University of Wisconsin School of Nursing.

  • Mr. Judah M. Eisenberg, Professor of Physics, for one semester, effective September 1, 1974, without pay, to serve as Visiting Professor in Guilin Rajah Chair of Theoretical Physics at Hebrew University, Jerusalem.

  • Mr. Lee R. Johnston, Professor of Business Administration, for one academic year, effective September 1. 1974, without pay, to accept a visiting professorship at the North European Management Institute, Oslo, Norway.

  • Miss Charlan J. Nemeth, Associate Professor of Psychology, for one academic year, effective September 1, 1974, without pay, to accept a position as a postdoctoral fellow at the Battelle Seattle Research Center.

  • Mr. John F. Reynolds, Assistant Professor of German, for one academic year, effective September 1, 1974, without pay, to carry out research at Harvard University Library on edition of works of C.F. Gellert.

  • Mr. Marshall Shapo, Professor of Law, one- half time, for one academic year, effective September 1, 1974, without pay, to attend the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, England.

  • Mr. Walter J. Wadlington, III, James Madison Professor of Law, for one semester, effective January 16, 1975, without pay, to visit York University, Canada.
