APPROVAL OF AUTHORIZATION FOR THE UNIVERSITY TO EXECUTE THE
PROCUREMENT CONTRACT FOR BLOOD PRODUCTS AND ASSOCIATED
SERVICES

The following resolution was adopted:

  • WHEREAS, by previous resolutions adopted on January 30, 1982, October 3, 1986, and October 5, 1990, the Board of Visitors has stipulated that contracts for goods that exceed $2,000,000 in any one year or $5,000,000 over the term of the contract, require the prior approval of the Board, or its Executive Committee, before such contracts are executed on the University's behalf; and
  • WHEREAS, as a result of the customary competitive procurement process the University has selected, subject to the Board of Visitors approval, a vendor to provide blood products and associated services supplies and related services for a term not to exceed four years at a cost of approximately $2,500,000 per year;

  • NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the proposed contracts to procure the above specified goods and services are hereby approved and the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer be and he is hereby authorized to execute the appropriate contract documents prepared by the Director of Materiel Management and approved for legal sufficiency by the General Counsel.
