COMBINING "MAIN" HOSPITAL AND BLUE RIDGE HOSPITAL FOR MEDICARE
REIMBURSEMENT PURPOSES

  • The following resolution was adopted:
  • WHEREAS, the University of Virginia "Main" Hospital, the Blue Ridge Hospital and the Kluge Children's Rehabilitation Center are operated as one financial entity within The Rector and Visitors of the University of Virginia; and
  • WHEREAS, the Main Hospital and Blue Ridge Hospital are combined as one State Agency within the Appropriation Act of the Commonwealth of Virginia; and
  • WHEREAS, the University of Virginia Hospitals seeks to transfer patients among facilities without the restrictions imposed by Medicare reimbursement policy;
  • NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that The Board of Visitors approves the combination of the "Main" Hospital, the Blue Ridge Hospital and the Kluge Rehabilitation Center as one Medicare provider, effective July 1, 1988.
