LEAVES OF ABSENCE
The following resolution was adopted:
- RESOLVED that the following faculty members be and they are hereby granted leave of absence:
- Dr. Peter Armstrong, Professor of Radiology, for one year, effective July 1, 1984, to do research.
- Ms. Cindy S. Aron, Assistant Professor of History, for one academic year, effective September 1, 1984, to pursue research.
- Mr. Rolf H. Benzinger, Associate Professor of Biology, for the period January 16, 1985 through February 28, 1985, to serve as Program Associate at the National Science Foundation.
- Mr. Rolf H. Benzinger, Associate Professor of Biology, for the period March 1, 1984 through January 15, 1985, to serve as Program Associate in Genetic Biology at the National Science Foundation.
- Mr. Edgar K. Browning, Professor of Economics, for one academic year, effective September 1, 1984, for educational leave.
- Mr. John D. Casey, Associate Professor of English, for one semester, effective January 16, 1985, to accept a research grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.
- Dr. Paul M. Dee, Professor of Radiology, for one year, effective August 1, 1984, to write a book.
- Mr. Nicholas C. Edsall, Associate Professor of History, for one semester, effective September 1, 1984, to do research and writing.
- Mr. Robert E. Ellison, Associate Professor of Environmental Sciences, for one semester, effective January 16, 1985, for educational purposes.
- Ms. Marjorie Flavin, Assistant Professor of Economics, for one academic year, effective September 1, 1984, for educational and research purposes.
- Mr. Earl A. Glosser, Associate Professor of Education, for the period May 1, 1984 through August 31, 1984, to serve as Colonel in the Army Reserves.
- Mr. James G. Hallett, Research Assistant Professor of Environmental Sciences, for the period January 1, 1984 through June 30, 1984, for personal reasons.
- Mr. James D. Hamilton, Assistant Professor of Economics, for one academic year, effective September 1, 1984, for educational and research purposes.
- Mr. Ronald M. Hartwell, Professor of Economics, for one semester, effective January 16, 1985, to conduct research.
- Mr. Bruce P. Hayden, Associate Professor of Environmental Sciences, for one semester, effective September 1, 1984, for educational purposes.
- Mr. Edward R. Howorka, Assistant Professor of Computer Science, School of Engineering and Applied Science, for one academic year, effective September 1, 1984, for personal reasons.
- Mr. Paul W. Humphreys, Assistant Professor of Philosophy, for one academic year, effective September 1, 1984, on National Science Foundation Grant for research.
- Mr. Jon D. Mikalson, Associate Professor of Classics, for one academic year, effective September 1, 1984, to be a member of the Institute of Advanced Studies at Princeton University.
- Mr. David H. Miles, Associate Professor of German, for one academic year, effective September 1, 1984, to complete present projects.
- Mr. Lewis J. Orphanos, Assistant Professor of Physics, for one semester, with partial pay, effective January 16, 1984, because of reduction in work effort.
- Mr. Yale Rabin, Associate Professor of Planning, School of Architecture, for one month, effective January 16, 1984, for personal reasons.
- Ms. Christine M. Reppucci, Assistant Professor, General Faculty, for two academic years, effective September 1, 1984, for personal reasons.
- Mr. Amram Samuni, Visiting Assistant Professor of Biochemistry, for the period March 3, 1984 through June 30, 1984, to conduct research in radiobiology at N.I.H..
- Mr. Wayne L. Shebilske, Associate Professor of Psychology, for one academic year, effective September 1, 1984, to continue as study director for the National Academy of Sciences.
- Ms. Margaret D. Stetz, Assistant Professor of English, for one semester, effective January 16, 1985, to pursue research.
- Mr. Mark F. Thomas, Assistant Professor of History, for one academic year, effective September 1, 1984, to pursue research.
- Ms. Renate L. Voris, Assistant Professor of German, for one semester, effective September 1, 1984, to complete research projects.
