AUTHORIZATION TO PROVIDE FOR THE CONDUCT OF INSTITUTIONAL SELF-STUDY

The following resolution was adopted:

  • WHEREAS, every ten years the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools requires that its member institutions conduct a Self-Study Program which is subsequently evaluated at the institution by a committee of peer educators; and
  • WHEREAS, the purposes of the procedure are to ensure that institutions meet minimum standards of quality and that they accurately and comprehensively assess their educational achievements - the procedure resulting in reaffirmation of accreditation; and
  • WHEREAS, the Southern Association has informed the University that it is to undertake a Self-Study Program beginning in 1984;
  • NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the institutional self-study required by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools be and it is hereby endorsed, and that the President is hereby authorized to provide for the conduct of the study beginning in February 1984.
