LEAVES OF ABSENCE

The following resolution was adopted:

  • RESOLVED that the following faculty members be and they are hereby granted leave of absence:
  • Mr. Thomas I. Crowell, Professor of Chemistry, for one semester, effective January 16, 1984, in accordance with agreement on file in the Provost's Office.
  • Mr. Carlos M. N. Eire, Assistant Professor of Religious Studies, for one semester, effective January 16, 1984, to accept a post-doctoral fellowship from the Council for the International Exchange of Scholars.
  • Mr. Piet C. Gugelot, Professor of Physics, for one semester, effective September 1, 1984, to conduct research at the University of Tokyo.
  • Mr. Edgar J. Gunter, Jr., Professor of Mechanical Engineering, School of Engineering and Applied Science, for the period January 16, 1984 through August 31, 1984, for educational leave to lecture in China.
  • Dr. James R. Kistner, Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology, General Medical Faculty, for the period January 1, 1984 through June 30, 1984, for personal reasons.
  • Mr. Donald W. Kupke, Professor of Biochemistry, for the period February 1, 1984 through December 31, 1984, to serve as Visiting Professor at the University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand.
  • Mr. Waldo E. Martin, Jr., Assistant Professor of History, for one semester, effective January 16, 1984, to accept a visiting appointment at the University of California, Berkeley.
  • Mr. Waldo E. Martin, Jr., Assistant Professor of History, for the period September 1, 1984 through January 15, 1985, to pursue research.
  • Mr. Walter B. Moore, III, Assistant Professor of Humanities, School of Engineering and Applied Science, for spring semesters for five years, effective January 16, 1984, to take advantage of Board of Visitors action for half-time retirement for five years.
