RESOLUTION ON A REVISED MEDICAL CENTER MASTER PLAN AND NEW
MEDICAL CENTER FACILITIES
The following resolution was adopted:
- RESOLVED by The Rector and Visitors of the University of Virginia that the Board approve the recommendation of the University of Virginia Master Plan Committee that the first three sections of the report, Master Plan Update 1981, University of Virginia Medical Center, submitted by Maurice W. Perreault and Associates, Inc., be and it is hereby approved, except that no existing Medical Center buildings shall be demolished and that all space released by the construction of a new hospital shall be reassigned after a careful study of all University space needs; and
- BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that no action is taken on the remainder of the report; and
- BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that land owned by the University lying south of Jefferson Park Avenue and east of Lane Road be and it is hereby reserved as the site for the possible future construction of a new hospital facility; and
- BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the University be authorized to proceed with pre-planning studies for a new hospital facility.
