The following resolution was adopted:
RESOLVED by The Rector and Visitors of the University of Virginia that the following faculty members be and they are hereby granted leave of absence:
Mr. William F. Beazer, Associate Professor of Economics, for one academic year, effective September 1, 1980, to participate in a government funded research project.
Ms. Berniel B. Bjorklund, Assistant Professor of German, for one academic year, effective September 1, 1980, to accept a national NEH award.

Mrs. Jane K. Brown, Associate Professor of German, for one academic year, effective September 1, 1980, to teach at the University of Colorado.
Mr. Edgar K. Browning, Professor of Economics, for one academic year, effective September 1, 1980, for research and writing.
Mr. David C. Brydges, Assistant Professor of Mathematics, for one academic year, effective September 1, 1980, to accept an appointment as Visiting Associate Professor at Indiana University.
Mr. James F. Buck, Assistant Professor of Commerce, for one year, effective September 1, 1980, to be Visiting Assistant Professor at East Carolina University.
Mr. Edwin S. Cohen, Joseph M. Hartfield Professor of Law, for one academic year, one-half time, effective September 1, 1980, to serve as part-time Counsel to the Covington and Burling law firm in Washington, D. C.
Mr. Ralph Cohen, William R. Kenan, Jr., Professor of English, for one year, effective September 1, 1980, as William Andrews Clark Memorial Library Research Professor, at the University of California, Los Angeles.
Mr. Julian W. Connolly, Assistant Professor of Russian, for one semester, effective September 1, 1980, to pursue research.
Mr. Douglas L. Costa, Associate Professor of Mathematics, for one semester, effective September 1, 1980, to attend the University of Western Brittany.
Mrs. Mary L. Cozad, Assistant Professor of Spanish, for one academic year, effective September 1, 1980, to pursue research.
Mr. Nicholas C. Edsall, Associate Professor of History, for one academic year, effective September 1, 1980, to pursue research.
Mr. Lei Y. Fager, Research Assistant Professor of Physiology, for the period June 1, 1980, through June 30, 1980, for personal reasons.
