ACTIONS RELATING TO CHAIRHOLDERS

• The following resolution was adopted:
  RESOLVED by The Rector and Visitors of the University of Virginia that the following persons be and they are hereby elected to the named chairs as shown below:
• Mr. Michael P. Dooley as Henry L. and Grace Doherty Charitable Foundation Professor of Law, effective September 1, 1980.
• Mr. Charles O. Jones as Robert Kent Gooch Professor of Government and Foreign Affairs, effective September 1, 1981.
• Mr. Graham C. Lilly as Henry L. and Grace Doherty Charitable Foundation Professor of Law, effective September 1, 1980.
• Dr. Peter J. Quesenberry as Byrd S. Leavell Professor of Internal Medicine, effective July 1, 1980.
• Dr. Paul B. Underwood, Jr., as Distinguished Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, effective July 1, 1980.

• Mr. Edwin S. Cohen, Joseph M. Hartfield Professor of Law, for one academic year, one-half time, effective September 1, 1980, to serve as part-time Counsel to the Covington and Burling law firm in Washington, D. C.
• Mr. Ralph Cohen, William R. Kenan, Jr., Professor of English, for one year, effective September 1, 1980, as William Andrews Clark Memorial Library Research Professor, at the University of California, Los Angeles.
• Mr. Merrill D. Peterson, Thomas Jefferson Memorial Foundation Professor of History, for one academic year, effective September 1, 1980.
• Mr. Frank G. Ryder, William R. Kenan, Jr., Professor of German, for one semester, effective September 1, 1980, in accordance with the Board of Visitors' approved half-time retirement agreement.
