AMENDMENT TO TIAA/CREF RETIREMENT PLAN APPROVED BY THE BOARD
OF VISITORS ON JANUARY 22, 1977
- The following resolution was adopted:
- RESOLVED by The Rector and Visitors of the University of Virginia that any member of the faculty who elected prior to February 1, 1978 to reduce his or her duties to one-half time with continued full participation in the TIAA/CREF Annuity Program as provided by the Board of Visitors resolution dated January 22, 1977, may rescind his or her election on or before March 1, 1978. This one time option is granted in light of the recent change in the Social Security Act which eliminated the monthly earnings test for eligibility for Social Security and thus reduced the potential benefits a faculty member on one-half time salary may receive.
