LEAVES OF ABSENCE

  • The following resolution was adopted:
    RESOLVED by The Rector and Visitors of the University of Virginia that the following faculty members be and they are hereby granted leave of absence:
  • Mr. William G. Austin, Assistant Professor of Psychology, for one academic year, effective September 1, 1977, to accept a Russell Sage Foundation Fellowship for the Study of Law and Social Science.
  • Mr. Richard B. Barnett, Assistant Professor of History, for one academic year, effective September 1, 1977, to pursue writing and research.
  • Mr. Michael J. Graetz, Professor of Law, one-half time, for one academic year, effective September 1, 1977, to complete a major research project.
  • Miss Elizabeth A. Jameson, acting Assistant Professor of History, for one academic year, effective September 1, 1977, for research and writing.
  • Mr. John C. Jeffries, Assistant Professor of Law, for one semester, effective September 1, 1977, to visit the Stanford Law School during the Fall of 1977.
  • Mr. Robert E. Johnson, Associate Professor of Engineering Physics, for one semester, effective January 16, 1978, for research and writing.
  • Mr. Peter W. Low, Hardy C. Dillard Professor of Law, for one semester, effective September 1, 1977, to visit the Stanford Law School during the Fall of 1977.
  • Mr. Michael B. McMahon, Associate Professor of Education, for one academic year, effective September 1, 1977, to devote full time to research and writing.
  • Mr. Daniel J. Meador, James Monroe Professor of Law, for two academic years, effective September 1, 1977, to continue an appointment as an Assistant Attorney General of the United States, as head of the new Office for Improvements in the Administration of Justice.
  • Mr. Robert H. Pate, Jr., Associate Professor of Education, for one academic year, effective September 1, 1977, to accept appointment as Professor of Education, George Peabody College for Teachers and to be a Visiting Professor in their European Program.
