AMENDMENT TO THE MINUTES OF MARCH 29, 1974

At the time the contract was let for Phase I of the new building for the School of Law the University had insufficient funds to award the contract. It was recommended to the Finance Committee and approved by the Committee that an additional $50.00 increase in out-of-State tuition in the School of Law be allocated to amortize the cost of the new building when the next increase in such tuition was approved by the Board.

The schedule of tuition increases approved by the Board on March 29, 1974 raised the out-of-State tuition in the School of Law by $275.00 but failed to make such allocation.

The following resolution was adopted to replace the resolution of March 29, 1974:

  • RESOLVED by The Rector and Visitors of the University of Virginia that the out-of-State tuition charge for students entering the School of Law be and it is hereby increased by $275.00 per session, effective September 1974, and that $50.00 of the increase be allocated for the amortization of a loan necessary to provide additional funds for the new School of Law building.
