NATIONAL BANK BRANCH IN NEWCOMB HALL

The President reported concerning the establishment of a branch bank facility in Newcomb Hall. Following the Finance Committee's meeting of December 8, 1967, it was determined that legislation was unnecessary for the establishment of a branch bank. Accordingly bids have been received from certain Charlottesville banks and the branch has been awarded on the basis of those bids to the National Bank and Trust Company.

To confirm this action, the following resolution was adopted:

  • RESOLVED by The Rector and Visitors of the University of Virginia that the President or Comptroller be and either of them hereby is authorized to enter into a lease agreement with the National Bank and Trust Company for the establishment of a branch bank in Newcomb Hall, such lease to be subject to the approval of the University's Special Counsel.
