COMMUNICATION FROM THE GARDEN CLUB OF VIRGINIA

The Rector asked the Secretary to read a letter addressed to him from Mrs. Benjamin F. Parrott, President of The Garden Club of Virginia, dated 11 February 1967, in which The Garden Club requested that the Board of Visitors consider granting to The Garden Club of Virginia space in the restored Rotunda as an archive for the records and permanent restoration plans of The Garden Club. Space is now provided to The Garden Club in the Alderman Library Building archives.

After discussion, the Secretary was instructed to reply to Mrs. Parrott to the effect that the matter would be taken under advisement but that note should be made that the demands for space in the restored Rotunda for the needs of the University would be so great that it was doubtful that any such allocation as that requested could be approved.
