Summer Courses in Mathematics and Engineering.

These courses are designed to benefit three classes of students; those preparing
for entrance to College or University; those who aim to secure promotion
to higher classes; and those who are already engaged in teaching Pure and
Applied Mathematics in School or College.

Each course consists of five lessons a week extended over six weeks. The subjects
usually offered are the following, but special courses will be arranged to
suit the needs of individual students:

1. Trigonometry.

2. Analytical Geometry.

3. Infinitesimal Calculus.

4. Theoretical Mechanics.

5. Strength of Materials.

6. Graphical Statics.

7. Steam Engineering.

8. Railway Engineering.

The instruction is in all cases individual in its character and adapted to the
state of preparation and the purposes of the student. Correspondence is invited
and suggestions will be given as to the arrangement of work and the preliminary
reading desirable for its effective pursuit.

The fee for tuition in one course is $30; in each additional course, $20. Work
begins 3d July, 1899. Address
