LEAVES OF ABSENCE

The following resolution was adopted

RESOLVED by the Board of Visitors of The Rector and Visitors of the University of Virginia
that the following faculty members be and they are hereby granted leaves of absence

Mr. Stephen F. Barker, Associate Professor of Philosophy, for the 1960-1961 session, without
pay, to serve as Visiting Professor at Swarthmore College.

Mrs. Vera Ray Brand, Instructor in Nursing, for the session of 1960-1961, without pay, to
enroll in the Master's Program in Education at the University of Virginia.

Mr. Francis Duke, Associate Professor of Romance Languages, for the session of 1960-1961,
without pay, to do research in France.

Mr. Rowland Egger, Professor of Political Science, for the second semester of the session
of 1960-1961, without pay, to serve as Visiting Professor of Government at Harvard University.

Mr. William D. Hedges, Assistant Professor of Education, for the session of 1960-1961, without
pay, to continue work in Korea with the International Cooperation Administration.

Miss Delore Koontz, Instructor in Nursing, for the session of 1960-1961, without pay, to
enroll in the Master's Program in Maternity Nursing at Teachers College of Columbia University.

Mrs. Betty Norris, Instructor in Nursing, for the session of 1960-1961, without pay, to
complete her work for a B. S. degree in Nursing.

Miss Margaret G. Tyson, Dean, School of Nursing, from 1 August 1960 to 15 August 1960, to
attend the Summer Session at Teachers College to further her work towards a doctoral degree in
Administration of Schools of Nursing.
