To Stella.

[_]

Mart. l. 7. Epigr. 35 [36].

VVhen my poor Villa could not storms sustain,
Nor watry Jove, but swam in Flouds of Rain,
Thou sent'st me Tyles, wherewith to make a Fence
'Gainst the rude Tempests sudden violence.
We thank thee Stella: but cold Winter's near,
The Villa's coverd, not the Villager.
