And William of Malmesbury in his said second booke beareth witnes
that the Cronicles of Normandy doth plainly expresse
The name of the Lord Percy wch was associate to the
forenamed Duke Rollo was called Jeffrey Percie
A right valiant knight gracious & fortunate
whose father named Mainefreed was fallen into fate.
The forenamed Duke Rollo gave after his victory
to the said Lord Geffray Percy
Great possessions in Normandy in the Countrey
of Artoys as the story sheweth more plainely
