Then, speed thou to the deeper shade.
But if thy steps are watched, then wend
Where Michael and St. Patern bend,
To guard the northern transept's bound;
Within a turret-stair is found,
That leads to thin arched wall, on high,
Where thou, as here, secure may'st lie.
So fare thee well! I bless thy way,
And will assist thee as I may.”
