MOTIONS FOR EXECUTIVE SESSIONS

The following motions were unanimously adopted by vote of all Visitors present:

(a) That the Health Affairs Committee of the Board of Visitors go into Executive Session for Item Number 11 on that Committee's agenda for the discussion or consideration of personnel matters involving University appointees.
(b) That the Educational Policy Committee of the Board of Visitors go into Executive Session for Item Number 10 on that Committee's agenda for the discussion or consideration of personnel matters involving University appointees including employment, assignment, appointment, promotion, performance, demotion, salaries, discipling or resignation of public officers, appointees or employees of the University.
(c) That the Buildings and Grounds Committee of the Board of Visitors go into Executive Session for Item Number 8 on that Committee's agenda for the discussion or consideration of gifts, bequests and fundraising activities as provided for in Section 2.1-344 (a)(7) of the Virginia Code.
(d) That the Finance Committee go into Executive Session for discussion of Item Number 15 on that Committee's agenda for the discussion of investing public funds where competition or bargaining is involved when if made public initially the University's financial interests would be adversely affected as provided for in Section 2.1-344 (a)(5) of the Virginia Code.
(e) That the Finance Committee of the Board of Visitors go into Executive Session for Item Number 16 on that Committee's agenda for the following reason: to discuss or consider the acquisition or disposition of real property for a public purpose if that discussion could affect the value of property owned by or desirable for ownership by the University as provided for in Section 2.1-344 (a)(2) of the Virginia Code.
(f) That the Board of Visitors go into Executive Session for consultation with legal counsel pertaining to actual and potential litigation, or other legal matters within the jurisdiction of the Board, as provided for in Section 2.1-344 (a)(6) of the Virginia Code.

Following a recess for an Executive Session of the Board of Visitors, the Open Session continued at 3:00 p.m., on October 2, 1987.
