ACTIONS RELATING TO CHAIRHOLDERS

  • The following resolution was adopted:
    RESOLVED that the actions relating to chairholders be and they are hereby approved as shown below:
  • (a) Election of Chairholders

  • Mr. Thomas L. Blair as Frank Talbott, Jr., Visiting Professor, effective September 1, 1987, for one academic year.
  • Dr. David S. Fedson as Harry T. Peters, Jr., Professor of Internal Medicine, effective July 1, 1987. (Dr. Fedson will continue as Associate Professor of Internal Medicine.)
  • Mr. Murray H. Finley as Eleanor F. and Philip G. Rust Visiting Professor of Business Administration, part-time, effective September 1, 1987, for one academic year.
  • Mr. Frederick D. Nichols as Cary D. Langhorne Professor of Architecture, part-time, effective September 1, 1987, for one academic year.
  • Mr. Judson P. Reis as The Morris Plan Visiting Professor of Consumer Credit, for one semester, effective September 1, 1987.
  • (b) Re-election of Chairholders

  • Mr. Herbert Hausmaninger, John A. Ewald, Jr., Distinguished Visiting Professor of Law, for the period September 1, 1987 through October 31, 1987.
  • Mr. George W. McKinney, Jr., Virginia Bankers Association Professor of Bank Management, for one semester, effective September 1, 1987.

  • (c) Leaves of Absence of Chairholders

  • Mr. Jerome J. McGann, Commonwealth Professor of English, for the period July 1, 1987 through August 31, 1987, without pay, to do research.
  • Mr. Robert E. Scott, Lewis F. Powell, Jr., Professor of Law, for the period September 1, 1987 through May 31, 1988, without pay, to teach at Columbia University School of Law.
  • (d) Correction in the Change of Title of Dr. Frederick G. Hayden

  • Dr. Frederick G. Hayden, from Associate Professor of Internal Medicine and Stuart S. Richardson Professor of Clinical Virology in the Department of Internal Medicine and Associate Professor of Pathology, to Stuart S. Richardson Professor of Clinical Virology in the Department of Internal Medicine and Associate Professor of Pathology. The title of Associate Professor of Pathology is for the period January 1, 1986 through June 30, 1988.
