NAME OF C O'CONOR GOOLRICK

The Chairman of the Mary Washington College Committee, Mr. Greear, presented a resolution
which would call for the reservation of the name "C. O'Conor Goolrick" for the contemplated
building at Mary Washington College to be used for health and physical education
purposes. Mr. Greear stated that Mr. Goolrick, more than any one other individual, was
responsible for the existence of the College. After several Visitors had expressed their
pleasure with respect to the proposed action, the following resolution was adopted

RESOLVED by the Board of Visitors of The Rector and Visitors of the University of
Virginia that the name "C. O'Conor Goolrick" be reserved for the contemplated Mary Washington
College Health and Physical Education Building, and, be it further resolved, that we recommend
to our successors in office, the adoption of the name "C. O'Conor Goolrick" for the
Mary Washington College Health and Physical Education Building in partial recognition of
the many outstanding services rendered Mary Washington College by this distinguished
Virginia.
