Send not a sigh to follow me behind;
That were unkind.
My totter'd Bark cannot eudure that wind,
The force of such a gale
Will overset my saile.

Drop not a bootless tear into the Sea,
That's not the way,
Rather be still, and unto Neptune pray,
For if you do but weep,
Your tears provoke the deep.

Yet when I see (too late) the threatning storms.
Portending harms,
I then shall wish my self within thine armes,
Not only there to lie,
But only there to die.
