GRANT BY CARNEGIE CORPORATION
The President reported on a grant by the Carnegie Corporation of New York in the amount of
$75,000 to the Southern Regional Education Board for a training program for persons specializing
in the education of gifted children. The Southern Regional Education Board had selected the
University of Virginia to conduct the training program. He stated that this was a great tribute
to the School of Education and especially to Professor Virgil Ward of that school, who will direct
the training program.
