4. Editor's Note

This edition contains the original poetry contained in the 1924 publication of Nubbins (Harlow Publishing Company, Oklahoma City). There were no other known published copies of this text. Walker saw his poetry as part of his effort to preserve Wyandot culture. Therefore, he wrote in a manner to capture the English dialect of the Wyandot speakers. For that reason, no effort has been made to "improve" the text. Original notes follow the poems they reference. Editor's annotations are footnoted numerically.
