• 571 3. Mi ESE of Ridgeway on S.C. 213⁁Fairfield Co, S.C.. With the
  first change of red clay to yellow gray sand hills
  azaleas suddenly appeared. There were probably more
  but too dark to see. Had to back up nearly ¼ mile on
  sighting these bordering a small stream in mixed
  woods. Plants 2—3 meters high. Colors are very
  uniform in spite of the scattered occurrence of
  the plants.
