Balto Nov 18th, 1829

Dear Pa _

I duly received your letter enclosing a
check for $80. for which I am truly thankful.
This will be quite sufficient for all the expenditures
you mention but I am afraid if I purchase
a piece of linen which I am much in want
I shall have none left for pocket money, -&
if you could get me a piece or a 1/2 piece at
Mr. Galts & send it to me by the boat, I
could get it made up gratis by my Aunt
Maria _

The Poems will be printed by Bakek & Dunning
of this city upon terms advantageous to me
They printing it & giving me 250 copies of
the book: - - I will send it on by Mr.
Dunning who is going immediately to
Richmond _

I am glad to hear that your trip to
the springs was of service in recruiting
your health & spirits _
Give my love to Miss V. _

I remain Dear Pa,
Yours affectionately
Edgar A Poe
