TO THE RIGHT HONORABLE THOMAS, Earl of Ossory.
My Lord,
This piece being made English in your
Honors Service, and by your Command,
having already passed the Suffrage of the
Stage, and now made more publique by passing
the Press, I thought it my Duty (in the Authors
absence) to present it to your Honor: I shall not
say anything of the PLAY, because I had no
hand in it; but I have made bold to that, to add
a Catalogue of all the English Plays hitherto printed.
I have done it as perfectly as I can, in respect
that nothing which is imperfect ought to be
presented to your Honor. If you accept and peruse
it, it is the utmost ambition of
Your Honors humble servant,
Fra: Kirkman.
