SCENE V.

Enter BALLIO the Procurer.
Bal.
Ha! ha! ha! ha! [laughing.]
at length my heart's at ease,

Since he is gone, and carried off the girl.
Now could I wish that rascal Pseudolus
Would come, and try out of this girl to trick me.
He has con'd his lesson well, I know for certain.
I'd rather be forsworn a thousand times,
Than be the laughing-stock of such a rascal,
If I now meet with him, by Hercules!
I'll laugh him off the stage—But I believe
He must be in the work-house soon: for such
Were the conditions of his own proposal.
Now do I wish, that I could meet with Simo,
That I might make him partner of my joy.
