A Prospect of Mount IDA.Jupiter and Mercury appear in the Air.
Jup.
Hast, Hermes, hast, for Earth thy Flight prepare;
To Paris this Important Message bear.
Tell him that Pallas, and the Queen of Love
At Variance are with the Great Wife of JOVE:
Tell him All Three will on Yon Mount descend,
And by His Judgment their Contention end.
Give him this Golden Ball:—Be This the Prize
Of Her, who gains the Conquest o're his Eyes.

With winged Speed I'll cut the Liquid Air,
Well pleas'd, Great JOVE, Your dread Commands to bear.
Jupiter ascends. Mercury flies downwards, and disappears.
