MY VALENTINE.

My Valentine! my Valentine!
Blue sky! (he said these eyes of mine
Were heaven-like) how art thou bright
And he not here, my heart's delight,
My Valentine?
My Valentine! my Valentine!
O foolish heart, so prompt to pine,
Knowing his love! But love is fear.
So sure to come, and yet not here,
My Valentine!
My Valentine! my Valentine!
He comes: can Morn so brightly shine?
Sweet lips—But eager love affords
No time, nor is there need of words,
My Valentine!
