SONG.

Ere fortune change, and we become
The victims of its will,
Fly to these arms—thy native home,
And we'll be happy still.
When time steals on with gloomy brow,
And bids those roses fade,
As brilliant as they blossom now
To me they'll seem, sweet maid!
But youth and bloom are still thy own,—
Oh! spend that youth with me!
A heart where truth has fix'd her throne
Expands to welcome thee.
The heart I give ne'er knew a stain,
'Tis all the wealth that's mine:
Is that a bribe, whose worth may gain
A gem so rich as thine?
