INSCRIPTION FOR A REED-HOUSE
Say , if to shun the noisy day,The summer sun's oppressive ray,
Thou visit'st Contemplation's cell,
Here tarry—she'll repay thee well:
For she can bid each passion cease,
And sooth the troubled heart to peace,
Can to thy sober wishes yield
Contentment's flow'r and Wisdom's shield.
