“Well Mac,” his R---l H---ss rav'd,
“Come, tell me, how have I behav'd?”—
“Oh! sir,” said Mac, and scratch'd his pole,
“Illustriously, upon my soul!”

“And who look'd best, the king or me,
“Who seem'd to shew most majesty?”
“Lord! sir,” said ready Mac again,
“I would not wish to make you vain;
