Integrity.

It is not Wealth, nor worldly Pelf,
Could my Affection take,
I am not such a Friend to Self,
To suffer for its Sake.
'Tis not the Features of a Face,
Could captivate mine Eye,
I have seen some of th' sweetest grace,
Yet kept my Liberty.
What was it then, stout Heart, I pray,
Did thee to Love incline?

Canst thou, without Presumption, say
It was a Pow'r divine?
Much I could say, did Need require,
In Favour of my Love,
But I chuse rather to retire,
Let it itself approve.
