114. To many a well
To many a well have I go
To find water to wash me fro woe.
To find water to wash me fro woe.
[1]
I have y-sought in many a sideTo find water to wash me fro woe;
Yet could I nought walk so wide
To find water to wash me so.
2
I have heard speak of a well,Thereof springeth streamës fele;
A man that thereof had his fill,
Of his woe should come his weal.
3
That well is mercy, I have heard say,And shall be without end;
Almighty God, to thee we pray,
Give us grace that well to find.
