This worlë wondreth of all thing
How a maid conceived a king;
To give us all thereof shewing,
Veni, Redemptor gencium.

When Gabriel came with his greeting
To Mary mother, that sweetë thing,
He granted and said with great liking:
Veni, Redemptor gencium.

Ambrosë said in his writing
Christ should be in a maid dwelling,
To makë sooth all that singing:
Veni, Redemptor gencium.

And David said in his spelling
That truth should be in earth growing;
To us, buyer of allë thing,
Veni, Redemptor gencium.

Christ, y-crowned at our beginning,
Be with us at our ending,
Us to thy joyë for to bring;
