The carefull Matrone in her cell below,
Let fall a groat, yet where she did not know:
Forthwith she tinnes a Light, then with her broome
She neatly sweepes the corners of the roome.
Thus from the dust and darkenesse when she finds it,
More than the Phrygian Midas wealth she mindes it.
Our soule a divine sparke since that it fell
Into Cimmerian darkenesse of this cell,
The soules true knowledge doth appeare no more
Which goeth beyond Pygmalions richest store.
Then must we light Cleanthes Lamp and find
By study, the lost treasure of our mind.
