To the Courteous Reader.
The God of love made plants and herbs to giveTheir vertues humane nature to relieve.
The meanest simple, weeds, and poisons have
Some power, which our imperfections crave.
To cure by Minerals is a curious Art,
Herbs with less danger, vertues do impart.
Behold this Looking-glass: In which thou'lt see
When thou art sick, and when from sickness free.
Accept of it: so small a gift (I know)
Can no great bounty, but affection show.
